Fudgey One-Bowl Protein Brownies
Updated: Dec 23, 2021
Brownies are one of the most popular baked treats in the world, but the high sugar, saturated fats and calorie content make it a sinful addition to our diet. It may seem impossible for brownies to be part of a healthful diet, but we are here to bust this myth. Instead of sticking to your usual protein shake, try this quick one-bowl protein brownie recipe before hitting the gym!
This healthy recipe is perfect for any gym-goers. Despite having the various healthier ingredient alternatives, these chocolatey brownies are still as delicious and heavenly as the usual sinful brownie recipes.
Avocado is the perfect substitute for butter, oil or cream. Avocados are rich in omega-3s and Vitamin E. Even though they are a high-fat food, these monounsaturated fats are considered heart-healthy. This helps to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol while maintaining your HDL (good) cholesterol level. Therefore, you can reduce your intake of saturated fats without compromising on the texture of the dish.
Fudgey One-Bowl Protein Brownies Recipe
Servings: 8 Brownies
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
2 large eggs
100ml Sugar-Free Syrup
90g flour
60g cocoa powder
2 scoops Impact Whey Protein (Chocolate)
50g High-Protein Chocolate
Method
Begin by preheating your oven to 150°C/170°C for fan-assisted. Next, line an 8” square baking tray with greaseproof paper.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mash in the ripe avocado and whisk in the eggs. Mix until no large lumps remain.
Now stir in the Sugar-Free Syrup. Add in the cocoa powder and stir until fully incorporated, then stir the flour and whey protein until just incorporated. Next, add the chocolate in by smashing it up into small pieces and fold them into the mixture.
Now spread the batter into the tray evenly. Bake for 15-20 minutes (15 minutes yields the fudgiest protein brownies, whereas 20 minutes yields cakier protein brownies).
Once baked, allow to cool for 30 minutes, cut into 8 squares and serve.
